Impact, which means Informing Many People About Christ Today, has been around for awhile. The ministry team started in 1991 under the name Won by One. At that time we went into juvenlies and childrens homes preaching and singing. The music a compilation of every style imaginable: rap, country, rock, yet all with gospel lyric, has been very well received. This was a pretty awesome experience going into these facilities. However, it became a very shallow feeling inside to tell these young people we loved them and yet we didn't have anything to offer them outside of the facility. It was then that the vision for an outreach ministry was birthed in our heart. We started it in our home in 1994. The 3rd week we had 42 teens in our living room and began praying about the next step. In 1996 we bought an old baptist church that had closed down. We made a parsonage area I it and then moved the ministry there. In 2000 we bought an old grocery store. Now we have Monday and Friday services. We have a beautiful sanctuary and then a 50's cafe' next to it wehre we serve free food every Monday night. We have praise and worship and preaching every week. On Friday nights we have skateboard ramps out and show movies of the side of the building. We also have different bands in every week. This has been a great addition to the ministry. It has given the youth we meet a chance to come and be in our lives. The greatest thing I feel is the fact that many of those converted are now on staff and help in the ministry.We have seen many come to Christ and then go to be ministers of some sort.
